Description (Service) Amateur radio club * assistance and support to those preparing for the Radio Certificate exam ("License") to operate an Amateur Radio station * ongoing learning about all things Radio (equipment, antennas, digital communications, linking computers to radio, satellite use, etc.) * participates in radio contests and events such as Jamboree-on-the-Air (Scouts/Guides), Canada Day, Winter Contests, and Field Day in June * demonstrations to groups and the public on the value of Amateur Radio as a hobby and service * communications for non-profit community groups for such things as races, marathons, parades, festivals, etc. * emergency communications for social services agencies and departments in the case of a declared emergency * occasional social events

Meetings First Tue of the month 7 pm, Sep-Jun, at Lyn Fire Hall
