Description & Services
Description (Service) Organization providing a safe haven for sick, injured and homeless animals in Ottawa

* stray animal shelter: cares for injured, lost and homeless animals that are brought to the stray animal shelter by Municipal By-Law Officers, the general public and/or picked up by the Emergency Animal Services

* Adoption Centre: many cats, dogs, other small animals and birds available for adoption into loving, permanent new homes

Municipal Animal Shelter Mon-Fri 9 am-8 pm * Sat 10 am-5 pm * Sun 11 am-4 pm

Eligibility Different age requirements for different programs
Application * for lost animals: call 613-725-3166, submit a lost report through the website, email a photo of the pet, and visit the shelter 
 
* for found animals: try to locate the owner, submit a found report through the website or bring the animal to the shelter 
 
* for adoptions: complete a questionnaire, provide identification and sign an Adoption Agreement explaining obligations and responsibilities of the adopter
