Description & Services
Description (Service) Student Legal Aid Services Society clinic * staffed by students and supervised by lawyers * provides legal services to low-income members of the community. 
 
Provides legal advice and representation on: Family law (including custody, access, support, restraining orders) * Tenant law (including repairs, rent deposits, Small Claims Court, evictions) * Criminal charges (including drug offences, theft, assault, mischief, some provincial offences) * Serious matters under the Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act  
 
Assists victims of crime with applications to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board 
 
Conducts legal education presentations, participates in a variety of outreach activities for students and many community organizations.
Hours Administration Mon-Fri 9 am-5 pm * drop-in hours (Cancelled until Feb 28 2019, usually Mon, Wed 7 pm-9 pm) * Thu 2 pm-4 pm * closed for exams and training, please call for details

Eligibility Recipients of social assistance, low-income citizens and full-time undergraduate students of University of Ottawa and Carleton University whose problems fall within the areas of the clinic's jurisdiction and Legal Aid Ontario.
