Description (Service) COVID-19 (24 March 2020): This agency's services are affected by the COVID-19 * please refer to each services for more information * the front doors to CLSO offices will be locked, with a sign posted in English and French: Based on the information about the COVID-19 virus from Public Health authorities, we are currently not meeting with people in person. We are holding meetings by phone. Please call us at 613-241-7008 and we will get back to you as soon as we can. We will provide services as much as possible by telephone, email, video, etc 
 
 
Free legal help to people of low income 
 
Specializes in problems involving: landlord and tenant law * social assistance * immigration * employment insurance * Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) * Canada Pension Plan (CPP) 
 
Also provides education on legal matters and is involved in various law reform issues 
 
Queer Refugee Hearings Program: in partnership with Capital Rainbow Refugee * hearing assistance to individuals claiming refugee protection based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression
