Description (Service) Organization of parents and professionals who believe that most hearing impaired children can acquire almost normal language skills. Promotes early identification of hearing loss * early use of hearing aids or cochlear implants * intensive auditory-verbal therapy. Emotional support * publishes newsletters * holds workshops * operates book/video libraries and advocates for hearing impaired children in the school system * many family get-togethers
