Description (Service) COVID-19 (24 March 2020): This agency's services are affected by the COVID-19 * please refer to each services for more information * the front doors to CLSO offices will be locked, with a sign posted in English and French: Based on the information about the COVID-19 virus from Public Health authorities, we are currently not meeting with people in person. We are holding meetings by phone. Please call us at 613-596-1641 and we will get back to you as soon as we can. We will provide services as much as possible by telephone, email, video, etc 
 
Provides free legal help to low-income people 
 
Specializes in problems involving: social assistance * landlord and tenant law * Canada Pension Plan Disability * Workplace Safety and Insurance Board * public housing * Ontario Works * Ontario Disability Support Program * Immigration law * employment insurance benefits * education on legal matters 
 
Staff members: Give summary advice * act as advocates / representatives for clients * give talks to community groups * outreach to the community 
 
Does not deal with criminal cases or family law.
