Description (Service) COVID-19 (23 Apr 2020): Due to COVID19, the centre is closed until further notice. However, employment services will still be offered virtually or by phone, including counselling and workshops. Services are open to clients all over Ottawa, not just in the west end. Comprehensive employment and job search services * assessment of skills, interests and experience * job search strategies, including resume preparation * information about careers and occupations, local labour market, employment and training opportunities * on-the-job training, work experience * help in maintaining employment * information and referral to other employment and community services

Second Career Program -- skills training and financial support for laid-off workers

Services for employers -- help in identifying human resource skills requirements * matching of workplace needs to workers' skills, capabilities, interests and experience * support for developing on-the-job training plans and monitoring of placements to support retention

Canada-Ontario Job Grant -- financial support for individual employers to purchase training for their employees * available to small, medium and large businesses planning to deliver short-term training for existing or new employees

Future Builders- pre-apprenticeship training in the General Carpentry trade available to youth between the ages of 15-29

Job Track Childcare- pre-apprenticeship training in the Child Development Practitioner trade

Youth Lead - pre-employment program which supports immigrant and refugee youth between the ages of 15-29 to participate in the workforce and to develop Canadian workplace skills

Internationally Trained Professionals Program - pre-employment program which supports new comers and refugees who are internationally trained professionals with mentorship and participation in the Canadian workplace
