Description (Service) | Supports children and their families through services that meet their diverse developmental, early learning and child care needs * referral to child care programs * operates 13 programs in various locations across the City of Ottawa * provides a continuum of child care, information, support and early years services * Group Child Care Centres: Kindergarten and school age program at Riverview Alternative School; pre-school and kindergarten and school age program at Stittsville Public School, at Carleton Heights Public School and Charles H. Hulse Public School; kindergarten and school age program at Alta Vista Public school; full day toddler, preschool program and school age program at Overbrook Child Care, attached to Queen Mary Public School; George Street, toddler and preschool program for children between the ages of 18 months and 5 years; toddler and preschool program at Sunflower Child Care Centre; and infant, toddler and preschool program at Wellington Child Care Centre. * Licensed Home Child Care: for children 3 months to 12 years of age * Short Term Child Care: for mildly ill children and emergency care * Children's Integration Support Services: provides supports and resources to licensed child care centers who include children with special needs in licensed child care settings for families who reside in the City of Ottawa * Ottawa Forest & Nature School: At Ottawa Forest and Nature School (OFNS), children spend full days outdoors in local woodlands and green spaces, in various urban and near-urban parks, natural spaces adjacent to or on school grounds, or natural playgrounds and outdoor classrooms. * Early Years Centre: for parents/caregivers and their children 0-6 years of age, playgroups, toy lending, workshops * Child Care Consulting Services: consulting service on child care, work and family issues * Toy Lending Library is located at Don Reid Dr (one block west of the intersection of Walkley and Conroy) and is open Wednesday evening, Tuesday afternoon and Saturday morning |
