Description (Service)Addresses the quality of physical and emotional care given to residents of long-term care, and the general environment of the home in which they live. * Brings concerns to the attention of the general public, works with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care on the compliance of long-term care homes to the regulations for the operation of the home, and the care and safety of residents. * Works with Health Quality Ontario with ongoing initiatives for improving the quality of care given to residents. * Provides information to relatives of residents in long-term care facilities concerning residents' rights and responsibilities under government legislation. * Helps families advocate on behalf of their relatives in long-term care facilities.
