Description & Services
Description (Service) Escorted Transportation -Volunteer drivers take seniors to medical appointments and to essential shopping locally to Belleville, Kingston or Toronto. Rides are provided for essential shopping in Picton (i.e. groceries & drug store). There is a small charge for each trip. 
Hot or frozen meals (Meals on Wheels) are delivered to the door of seniors anywhere in Prince Edward County (Picton, Wellington, Consecon, Milford, Bloomfield, Demorestville, Ameliasburgh). Special diets can be accommodated for Meals on Wheels. 
Foot Care Clinics are held in Picton, Wellington & Rossmore. Service provided by specially trained registered nurses. 
Reassurance and Visiting Programs help seniors remain safe and socially involved even while they are shut in. 
Living at Home - light and heavy housecleaning, meal preparation, yard and garden work, and snow shovelling. 
Social / Recreational Programs - activities to maintain active living such as walking programs, Tai Chi, and Wii Bowling League. 
Caregiver Support - respite and support for those who care for seniors at home.  
Educational and Support Services - Driving course for seniors; hearing help classes; arthritis clinics; and regular educational speakers on topics of interest. Weekly newspaper columns; TV show on TVCogeco; radio show Aging Well in The County can be heard on 99.3CountyFM. 
Help with forms including Income Tax and Ontario Energy Support Program for eligible seniors.

Eligibility is in accordance with the Patients First Act and is based upon assessed need.
Application People must apply for service. Clients must book transportation 2 to 3 business days in advance. Please call ahead for an appointment with a Co-ordinator to discuss your needs.
