Description & Services
Description (Service) Services include screening, audiology, and appropriate follow-up services. All babies will be offered a hearing screening in the hospital just prior to discharge, or through a community screening clinic. Babies who do not pass the hearing screening will be referred to a specially-trained Audiologist at Hotel Dieu hospital for a complete evaluation. If a permanent hearing loss is identified, the Infant Hearing Program will provide appropriate follow-up services including family support, access to assistive technology, and communication development services.
