Description & Services
Description (Service) A FREE prevention initiative programs for youth 12-17 years of age. Eligible youth may be experiencing difficulties at home or school and may be displaying anti-social behavior. Youth may also be socializing with a negative peer group, experimenting with alcohol and/or drugs or may be at-risk of committing an offence. Youthreach is designed for male youth and SEED is designed for female youth. Both programs incorporates videos, guest speakers, and interactive activities on topics effecting teens today, aimed at enhancing the lives of the youth. Education, life skills and self-development are the focus of these programs.
Referrals are available to parents, youth, probation officers, counselors etc. through Community Organized Support and Prevention, via request and/or at Highland Shores Children's Aid Society and many schools have referral forms available. These programs run four times a year; after school during the school year and during the day for summer and March Break programming.
