Description & Services
Description (Service) Provides community support services: 
* Meals on Wheels ® hot - delivered to the door, includes a reassurance factor 
* Meals on Wheels ® frozen - delivered to the door of seniors 
* Seniors Luncheon Social - meals in central locations throughout PEC 
* Home Maintenance - yard & garden work, snow shovelling, odd jobs 
* Homemaking - light housekeeping & meal preparation 
* In-home Respite - relief for caregivers (no personal care is provided) 
* Escorted Transportation - to medical appointments anywhere, essential shoppng 
* Volunteer Visiting - a volunteer will visit weekly 
* Information & Referral - ask any question and we will find the answer 
* Help with Forms - staff provide support to seniors and their caregivers 
* Income Tax - volunteers will complete Income Tax forms for eligible seniors 
* Driving Course - developed by the Canada Safety Council; offered 3X/year 
* Footcare Clinics - in Picton, Wellington & Rossmore 
* Walking Program - from Thanksgiving to Victoria Day; indoors; Picton & Wellington 
* Tai Chi - beginner and intermediate 
* Wii Bowling League - have fun and make new friends 
* Telephone Reassurance - a daily call from a friendly volunteer 
* Seminars - watch local newspapers for topics 
* Caregiver Support - provided by staff 
* Volunteer Program - people are encouraged to volunteer 
* Newspaper Column - Information for Seniors in Picton Gazette weekly

Eligibility Eligibility is in accordance with the Long-Term Care Act and is based upon assessed need. Most clients are age 60+.
Application People must apply for service. People may also apply to be a volunteer for programs.
